Why Breast Reduction

Multiple reasons lead to breast reduction and some of them may be psychological or physical and all the reasons which lead to the operation will be examined by the doctors and given special treatment. Some of these reasons are:

Before Breast Reduction Surgery

Like all cosmetic procedures, there are guidelines that must be followed by patients to ensure the best results after surgery. Here are some guidelines to consider

Any medication consumed must be informed to doctors.
Any chronic illness must be informed to doctors.
If the patient smokes or drinks alcohol should be stopped before 2 weeks of the operation.
6-7 hours before the operation, avoid eating or drinking.
Any allergies due to medical products must be known.
Stop using aspirin, painkillers, herbal supplements, vitamins, for 1 week before surgery.

During Breast Reduction

Once all exams are completed. The doctors prepare you for the operation. General anesthesia will be performed. The techniques used to obtain the incision vary depending on the size of the breast and the degree of sagging. Then, after any excess skin and breast tissue, they will be moved upward to be consistent with the patient's body and desires. And the nipples will be moved afterwards to be consistent with the new shape of the breasts. The breast reduction operation takes approximately 2 to 3 hours. And patients have to stay overnight in the hospital due to the anesthetic effect.

After Breast Reduction Procedures

Several important activations must be followed after the operation to ensure the best results. And by following the doctor's instructions, you will notice a quick recovery after the operation. Here are the essential guidelines to know:

You will be given a medical corset/bra which you will need to wear within the time frame indicated by the doctors.
Taking a shower is within the times specified by doctors.
The first 2 to 3 weeks avoid all sexual activity.
For at least one month after the operation, do not stretch your arms or lift heavy objects,
Do not sleep on your chest for the first 15 days after the operation.
You must take medicines prescribed by doctors at the regular and specified times.
Intense sporting activities should be avoided during the first month of the operation.
Smoking and alcohol should be avoided.
You will return to normal life after 2 to 4 weeks of operation.

Note: There will be feelings of swelling and tangling after the operation. This is a normal result and you will be given painkillers and will disappear within the first few days after the operation.
